The reality of war blog
The true realities of war are very grim and horrid unlike the posters that advertise them. They are taught that it’s the patriotic American thing to do joining the military and fighting for your county but they fail to advertise the true horrific facts of the war. The propaganda shows people how easy it looks and how cool it is. They show that how the enemies are wrong and need to be punished. They don’t show the strength and willpower required for this nor do they show all of the pain the people go through or the destruction it is causing. The truth is far from what the government shows the people.
I think it would be best to start with the propaganda. It shows soldiers in their colorful uniforms determined and appearing to be unbeatable. This gets people to think that if I join the army I can be part of this cool thing without worrying about anything. Which is a total lie but it works very well for the innocent youth they are targeting for recruitment. They tap on the teenagers restlessness to do something fun and crazy and show that in the image to get them to join. They also tap in on them not getting in any trouble which is another draw since teenagers tend to have this fear of getting into trouble. They even make them think it’s part of their American dream to join the army and serve because it will lead them to success.
Another propaganda tool is showing the enemy as being brutal and violent people that are bad and need to be stopped. Now this appeals more on the people funding the military or recruiting since it doesn’t mainly appeal to the more ignorant youth. It even makes people think they have to go out there and defend their American dream and don’t get me wrong it’s good to fight for your country but some people just shouldn’t go through that kind of thing. They should know the truth so that they can know what they will actually be dealing with.
And then there are the things they don’t show like all of the injuries and terrors of the war. They don’t want the people to realize the grim realities otherwise they wouldn’t volunteer in as large numbers as they did. Though i’m not saying that it is bad to have a large amount of volunteers i’m just saying they should be better educated on what they are about to get into. The reason is because some people just aren’t suited for war and they shouldn’t have to go through that kind of thing. Yes they will take care of the physically challenged ones but there are always the mentally challenged ones who can make it through.

In the early 1850s it was a bad time for the united states, there was war, and especially, discrimination. The united states what divided, not by religion or political status, but by slavery. The north, was against slavery and the south was for it. And this started many problems for the united states and eventually a civil war, the north thought that everyone should be treated equal but the south because of their farm industry liked having slaves because they were cheap labor and they where hard workers. They had many ways to discriminate against the blacks. Like Jim crow laws that made black men have manors to white women like not looking at them in the eyes, and things that made them not vote like Literacy tests, and the Grandfather clause. One reason for the north wanting to get rid of slavery was the Northern population was growing much more quickly than the Southern population, which made it increasingly difficult for the South to continue to influence the national government. By the time of the 1860 election, the heavily agricultural southern states as a group had fewer Electoral College votes than the rapidly industrializing northern states. Lincoln was able to win the Presidential Election of 1860 without even being on the ballot in Southern states. Southerners felt a loss of federal concern for Southern pro-slavery political demands, and continued domination of the Federal government by Slaveocracy was on the wane. This political calculus provided a very real basis for Southerners’ worry about the relative political decline of their region due to the North growing much faster in terms of population and industrial output. And the reason the south wanted slavery was the South was dominated by a settled plantation system based on slavery. There was some rapid growthtaking place in the Southwest based on high birth rates and high migration from the Southeast, but it had a lower immigration rate from Europe. The South also had fewer large cities, and little manufacturing except in border areas. Slave owners controlled politics and economics, though two-thirds of Southern whites owned no slaves and usually were engaged in subsistence agriculture. So this is how slavery divided American and how we solved it was though a civil was witch almost made our country fall but we banded together and overcame the hard times.
